Moped's R.P.M

Six days and five nights. An event that would be a part of our bucket list.  A lil' bit hurried, but with time to do things as well - though not all planned in the itinerary.

I guess in the end, we need to find a balance between covering the distance in the set period versus stopping/visiting landmarks or places that we set out in the plan. Agile and flexible was our approach eventually.  I must say we were a bit ambitious to cover 300 to 400 km per day on a moped that have an average speed of 100kmph and a fuel range of 100km!  But hey, nothing is impossible.

This was an epic ride in its own league. Starting out with ten takers, at the end of it all eight riders completed the charted route, in general.  Anyway, credits goes to all ten whom dared to sign up when this ride finally take place after about a year of talk and discussion in our WhatsApp group.

The Finalist: DocZul, Ahjai, Halim, Sabri, Yus, Epi, Lonetrekkie & Idrus.

CAUTION: THIS IS A RATHER LONG-WINDED STORY!

Day 0: Wednesday, 30-Dec-2020.   Yus and Halim would have to start the journey one day earlier.  Hailing from up North, they came down to KL, spending the night at my home in Shah Alam to meet the official starting time of 0900am at Seremban. A small group of friends gathered at AjiKTM's bikeshop in Putra Heights in the evening to unofficially kick start this event.

In the back, DocZul, Halim, Epi (sitted), Armox, Yus, AjiKTM & Zack

AjiKTM has always been a strong support for our "group" that started out as a biking forum on the now defunct Superbike Malaysia (SBM) on zetaboard platform. Anyway, that's behind us now. Most of our "forum" discussions now are done in thru the WhatsApp group of the same name, SBM.

The Journey Begin
Yus and Halim put up at my home that night. Jefri@jefmoon came a visit to make up for his non-joining on this ride. For the record, Jeff was the one whom suggested for this kapcai ride around the peninsular, together with Yus & Halim. But due to conflicting programs, he could not partake. Of course with much disappointment.
Hafiz@Mutanic has also been most active in the planning stage of this ride event; coordinating printing (and design) of the ride's t-shirt plus sponsoring stickers in commemoration of this ride. However he had to back-out at the last minute due to family matters (taking care of his bedridden father in law). From originally just wanted to send us off at our RV point (Seremban RnR), Mutanic did follow the group all the way to Ayer Itam before heading back home. Efforts to persuade him to at least follow and spend the night in Sedili (our first destination for overnight) was unsuccessful.

The plan was to have lunch at Kari Kambing 40 Hari, but the place was overly crowded with long waiting line. Thus we opted for the next best thing, do a take away and find another not so crowded place to have lunch.

We found a good place in Ayer Itam that allowed outside food. Good for you restaurant owner! These days there are places where outside food are not allowed. Well, that's opportunity lost since people would still order drinks that attracts more profits than food, I'm sure..

There were not much excitement on this first day of the ride. We used the highway all the way to Yong Peng. Maybe a worthy episode to mention would be about DocZul's ordeal with his aftermarket exhaust that had some issues the night before; thus he had to visit a bike shop in the morning. This in turn, delayed our planned flag off time by about an hour sonce bike shops don't normally open before 9.00am.
Anyway, it turned out a nut came off from his exhaust fitment, causing really loud noise. We regrouped again with DocZul at Senawang lay-by.
Started with these ridersf, DocZul, Mutanic, Yus, Rik, Halim, Lonetrekkie & Epie. Of course only seven would finish the day at - mysel Sedili...

Seven of us cramped up in a 2-room house

Waiting for dinner to be served - one nite only in Sedili

Day 2: Friday, 1-January-2021.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

We left very early as we wanted to reach Pekan, Pahang before noon so that we can do the Solat Jumaat there/
