Twities Slow & Easy...

Maybe its the year end.  And when the new year ushers in, the year-end holiday-mood is still in?

For many, December and January would always be a busy period - especially for those with school going children.  Plus, wedding receptions and what-not also takes place a lot during the year end period. But for some, taking a me-time during the busy periods is essential - to liven the spirit... to "panaskan enjin"... to ensure the biking things is always in the right perspective... etc etc etc..

After our group ride early last month (December 2019), it was a bit hard to aligned a free day for a group ride.  Note:  a group ride is where there are three or more participants... hehehehe… bigger group is harder to come by (caveat: amongst our circle of biker friends).

Anyway, finally a ride list came up early in the second week of January.  And as was done in recent lists, Mzac arbitrary put up names of the regulars.... or at least whom would regularly join this small unofficial group dubbed as UOMO.

So there we were, on Saturday 18th Jan, arriving at one of our more regular RV location - Shell station RnR Dengkil on Elite Highway - at about the same time, as planned, 8:30am.

Regular ride buddies nowadays - Mzac, Sabri & Zack

There were actually two RV points planned.  The other one was Shell Station in Nilai.  So, after
waiting for half an hour at the RnR, we proceeded to Nilai, where we received a message from Razman informing us that he actually waited at RnR Seremban on the North-South Hiway. Not sure why, but Razman thought we would be meeting up there although in the ride list, that location was not mentioned at all.

@ Shell Nilai, expecting Razman to be a-waitin'...

It was just a pass-through at RnR Seremban... Razman was ready on the bike when we got there about ten minutes later.  I for one did not know where we would be going, although it was indicated on the ride list as a "durian ride".  Anyway, we regrouped after Pedas/Linggi exit.  It was still relatively early for lunch, and a bit too late for breakfast.  So, we took a long breather at the exit.

So, the concensus was to go to this place called Sabak Salai.  It was not yet 11:00am as we got there but the place was already crowded...  It was a tad too late for breakfast (plus, the establishment has already served lunch), so we went for a brunch.

The food was mostly pedas yang amat (very very spicy).  But, very the tasty and very the delicious!

Zack's brunch... too spicy even for him :-)
Early lunch done.  Zack then charted our route for the returning leg.  Razman excused himself as he had an errant to attend to thus he opted to go back the same way we came, i.e. via the Norst South Hiway.  For the three of us, we took the Linggi-Rantau-Siliau-Lukut-Sepang-Salak Tinggi route.  This route has some exciting corners and turns; however as it ran through villages, bikers need to take good precautions when riding this way.  The destination, well, holding true to our original plan.... durian!

We were here previously... early last year where we discussed the thousand corner ride.

A photo was posted in our UOMO WhatsApp group which prompted Faizal to immediately say... "I'm comingggg"... hehehehe…. Faizal has not been joining our rides due to his cycling training regime - preparing for the "Strongman Event" happening in March.  All the best bro!

Thanks for dropping by Faizal...
It was a very hot sunny day... So, while feeling a bit hasty to leave the covered roadside durian stall, we were already too long at the place.  Plus, we had enough of durain and rambutan for the day... So, as soon as as the sun hid behind the clouds, we rode out... Zack, going to Nilai for a doctor's appointment; Faizal going back home after a long moning of cycling and immediately after meeting up with us; and Mzac & I heading to AjiKTM's shop to say hello...

It was already 2 o'clock when Mzac and I reached AjiKTM's MX Motorsport shop in Putra Heights.  Raybakh, another biker friend whom has been quite inactive lately was just leaving the shop when we arrived.  And as mentioned, it was just a casual drop by to say hello.  So, after having a cup of coffee (which AjiKTM would always brew a jug every time we came over), we headed home...

So, there you have it... a planned ride with an un-planned route.  I must say one of a more enjoyable ride since a little while... probably due to the "twisties" on our way back... although we were taking it slow and easy.... hehehehe…

And, you know it... this ride write up would not be complete without the usual post ride pose from Mzac……

This ride was on Saturday, 18th January 2020.
One day after Zack's birthday...  :-)
