Zontes 368 Review – Surprisingly Capable, with a Few Quirks

Having spent some time with the Zontes 368, I must say it left quite a positive impression—despite a couple of small quirks that might just be “me things.” For reference, I stand at 157cm, and this review reflects a personal take from someone not exactly towering in height, and who leans old-school when it comes to bikes.

First Impressions & Ride Feel

Right off the bat, the seat height felt a tad too high for me. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable when mounting or during low-speed stops. That said, once I’m on the move, the bike feels light and well-balanced—deceptively light, in fact, given its actual weight. While pushing it around or lifting it off the stand can feel a bit hefty, all of that melts away once the wheels start rolling.

Performance & Handling

Performance-wise, the Zontes 368 picks up smoothly and accelerates with confidence. It offers more than enough torque, and power delivery is consistent across the range, making it an enjoyable ride whether you’re city cruising or out for a weekend dash. I haven’t confirmed the claimed top speed, but it definitely has more in reserve than I dared to explore in local riding conditions.

The riding position is spot on for me—a nice upright stance with a comfortable handlebar span and angle. It’s the kind of bike you feel at home on right away. Manoeuvrability is another plus; the bike is nimble and relaxed in its handling, which made weaving through town and tackling tight turns feel easy and natural.

Offroad Surprise

Took the 368 on some mild off-road tracks—gravel and sand—and I was honestly impressed. It held its own better than expected. What really made the difference was the additional footpeg for standing. It gave me that proper off-road riding posture and feel, almost like a dedicated trail bike. A nice touch that adds to its versatility.

The Little Things…

There are two small things I personally didn’t gel with:

  1. The boot-up time felt long. It could just be my old-school brain being impatient, but I prefer bikes that are ready to go the moment you flick the key. The high-tech dash and electronics are nice, but I’m not the biggest fan of digital fluff.
  2. The double stand is quite a chore for me to operate. Maybe it’s the placement or leverage, but I found it hard to engage. Then again, maybe it’s just me, and I’m not exactly built like a gym rat 😅.

Final Thoughts

So, would I like to own and ride this bike regularly? Leaning strongly towards “most likely” 😆. It’s got great features, solid performance, and a bit of go-anywhere spirit. Just needs a slightly lower seat or thicker boots for us shorter folks—and maybe a magic button for that double stand!
