Three's Company...

As you revv the throttle while downshifting a gear, the exhaust produced a certain sound . And you instantaneously feel a certain satisfaction. The growl coming out from the end-can is... indescribable.! Powerful yet sweet. And that's the in-line four for you! For some, the v-twin is yet another unique sensation that you will never forget or be able to forget.

It has been over a month since any of us got together for a ride. With just an impromptu prompt (from yours truly) a day before, my regular riding buddies Mzac & Zack raised their hands agreeing to my off-the-head ride route: RnR Dengkil - Nilai - Mantin - Lenggeng - and back. And that (ride route) was just supposed to be a tickle from me... But since they agreed, the ride would go on!

Today, Tuesday 3rd December, I am on my annual leave still (since Friday 29th Nov - went on an outing with my wife's work group). We were supposed to meet up at 9.00am at our usual RV location (RnR Dengkil on Elite Hiway Southbound). But I have to delay a bit when I received news of a passing of one of my neighbour. After ziarah (paying my last respect), it was around 10.30am when I rode out from home... Zack & Mzac was already there since 9.00am as planned.

So we "fast ride" to our pre-planned route. Had brunch at one of our regular makan place - Nasi Lemak Ikan Semilang Lenggeng. Much chit-chat in between...

Another favourite for us, telur itik masak lemak... with nasi lemak!

Coming back to the ride... today it was all sports / street affair. Me on my now almost classic R1, Mzac on his Gixxer K9, and Zack on his sporty street KTM Superduke 1290R.  I must say, the growl that these bikes gave are really sensational. Wouldn't trade it for anything!
As we paced each other on the twisty rural road, the adrenalin rush felt as we shifted down-gears negotiating the short corners, with engine giving that hunky growl, everything else beyond us was oblivious.

Note: Zack was with the GoPro; he was leading in the twisties; Mzac & I was upfront only when we were on the hiway... :-)

To be back on the sports bike and letting it loose from time to time is definitely a therapy for the souls. *message from the sponsor: please do not try this at home. This is performed by trained riders in a controlled condition :-)

Anywayyyy... that was that. We stopped by at our friend's bikeshop in Putra Heights (MX Motorsports) for a wind down. AjiKTM makes a very tasty kopi-O!!

A really enjoyable outing today guys. Thanks Mzac & Zack for obliging the itch to panaskan enjin....

And... the signature pose..  :-)

Aligned!

The story is simple. The story is unplanned. The story is…

It has been raining all night…. through morning. A ride was planned, as usual to rendezvous at 8.30am – at RnR Sg. Buloh. However the rain persisted until 8.30. By then, Mzac has already called off the ride. But Zack wanted to carry on.

So, there we were as agreed, arriving minutes within each other – Zack was first.

The plan was to exit into Sabak Bernam and perhaps go for mentarang… But while having coffee (and bread for Zack), I mentioned about my lower back pain which I have bee n having for a while now and had become more annoying of late.

Zack suggested doing a “bone alignment” at the place where he had done the same before. Whilst still talking, as always about biking mainly, Zack messaged the “doctor” – Adino Chee, whom according to Zack have proper certification on such matter – setting up an appointment at 11.00am, an hour from then. I nodded in agreement and few minutes after finishing our coffee, we rode out heading towards Sri Kembangan.

Doc Adino operated from his home in Taman Suria Tropika. The two hour session was much to my satisfaction…

In short, my body felt “aligned”… Felt a lot lighter than I could remember… Alhamdulillah…

Almost forgot… while I was undergoing the “treatment”, Razman dropped by. He was supposed to join us for the ride, but had to take a rain check due to the late start. He had another commitment at 12.00noon – and could join us at the “doc” house after his appointment was fulfilled.

This was indeed an unplanned ride. Though not our usual ride to a makan destination, it is still a ride right!

This biker brother (Azlan) was checking out Zack’s X-Adv as we were about to leave the RnR.

We chatted for a bit. As it turned out, he had a minor stroke earlier in the year as us recovering. He ride the BMW-RT and owned two other bikes. His wife also rides… a FG800GT.

Anyway, my “treatment” took a little longer than two hours. It was past 1.30pm when we left the docs house. And the sky was getting dark agar in as we rode our respective ways home.

All is well.. :-) ðŸ™‚

Truly A Half Day Ride...

Officially, today set a new UOMO record for "Earliest to Get Home From A Ride".  And today is a true, not fake, "half day ride".  I reached home five minutes to twelve noon.  And I'm pretty sure Zack, Mutanic, Mzac and especially Faizal reached their respective homes around the same time.

It has been more than a month since we got together for a ride.  A few rides were planned prior to today, but we could not get a good number of riders.  Most UOMOs were pre-occupied with other things.

As planned, we were already at RnR Dengkil by 8.30am.  Mutanic however misread the RV point and went to Shell in Dengkil town instead.  Well, not a bid deal - he safely arrived ten minutes later, all geared up for a long distance adventure ride !

Mutanic's steed, Adventure-ready!
Today's weather has improved a lot since after the country were hit with the haze situation since more than one month ago.  The haze that originated from palm trees burning in Indonesia has been an annual thingy for the past many years.  While it was still hazy yesterday, today I didn't notice much of it in the air.  And the sun is fully out! ---> translate to a scorching day.

While waiting for Mutianic, we had a drink....
Not exactly sure the exact time, but it was probably around 9.00am when we rode out from the service station at RnR Dengkil heading towards Lenggeng.  Yup, our late breakfast today would at Restoran Nasi Lemak Ikan Semilang Lenggeng - one of our regular place of visit.

Mzac led the pack followed by Faizal.  And these two were bullet fast on the Elite Highway!  So much so I couldn't keep up... hehehehe... Zack was taking a sweeper role at the start of this ride.  But once we exited the highway into Nilai, he took back the lead... as he normally does.

The restaurant had move to a new location (only a few metres away from their old place) along the main road.  I was a bit surprised when Zack did not make a right turn at the Broga road junction.  I thought we were trying out a new makan place.  But as it turned out, our previous trip to the old venue (of Restoran Nasi Lemak Ikan Semilang Lenggeng) is being operated by a different operator.  No wonder they did not have the ikan semilang and gulai telur itik when we visited that time.

Parking of bike can be a bit tricky as this new venue is on the main road.  But not that big a deal as this small town is akin to any quiet village in Malaysia - friendly people.

If anyone were to ask, what is so special about this place?  Well, a simple answer is, getting together having a meal with friends!  Anyway, the food here is also among the best that we have tasted... and their specialty would of course be the restaurant namesake, Nasi Lemak Ikan Semilang.  And the Telur Itik Masak Lemak is slightly better that the one served at Restorang Lomang Apak Kuala Pilah, according to Zack's taste bud (and he knows his stuff!).

Everyone (except me) had rice instead of Nasi Lemak today...

Everyone had the Telur Itik!

Me... Pulut with Telur Itik Masak Lemak + sambal udang... :-)

We chit-chatted away for almost an hour after finishing our meals.  I guess, this is the most valuable part of any outing that we do.  Catching up with each other as well as relevant current issuess (hehehehe).... Not inioning (membawang) mind you.  Just chit-chatting.... :-)

Didn't really look at the time, but it was certainly close to noon time when Mutanic prompted he needed to get back as early as possible.  His family is waiting for him to go back to their hometown in Sabak Bernam...
So, we called it a day and headed back the same route we came (Road N34)...

Everyone arrived back our respective home just around noon time.... as I said earlier, today is a truly half day ride!

More photos... some from Zack's GoPro Session 5.

Ride "Balik Sebelum Zohor"....

For the unassuming, the phrase or promise to be back from a ride before Zohor seems legit given the ride route could be covered in less than half a day, including chow-time.  But for the trained mind, this promise has been broken many a times before... hehehehehe…

So, it was only appropriate that Faizal, despite having deep desire to join us for this ride to Kuala Pilah, would meet up with the group at our rendezvous point - Shell RnR Dengkil.

But of course, we later learned that Faizal had other motive for turning up that morning.... hehehehe…. and that my friends is another story for another day... For today, lets focus on this "balik sebelum Zohor" ride to Kuala Pilah…  Also, its a ride to celebrate "Kunci KTM dah dapat, lepas satu patah dan kunci spare hilang - komplen dari Zack"...

I had the R1 repaired at MX Motorsport (fork leaking) and has been kept at the shop for the week.  When the list for this ride came up on Friday, a day before this event, the workshop was closed (normally closed on Fridays).  And their operating hours normally starts after 9.30am.  Thus, I had to make special arrangements with AjiKTM to pick the bike up at 8.00am that Saturday.  Butttttt….. when I got there as agreed, the shop was still close.

And AjiKTM turned up about twenty minutes later exclaiming "tayar kena paku lah pulak bang!".... So that explained his tardiness.  I dare not complain.  The fact that he agreed to come earlier to the shop is really appreciated.

So, after handing over the GSA key to AjiKTM (left the bike there for some detailing work), I headed out from Putra Heights arriving the RV place just shy of 9:00am, half an hour later than the agreed timing.  But I was not the last one to arrive.  As it turned out, we still need to wait for Waq_MT09 whom got there some ten minutes later..

We still had another RV point to be at - Petronas RnR Seremban where Man Morini and PakYob would be meeting the group. Faizal rode with us from Dengkil exiting at Nilai.  Faizal's son was having his graduation ceremony that day thus the reason for skipping this ride.
The usual suspects, L-R: Waq, YoursTruly, Mzac, Razz, Zack.
Apart from the regulars (Mzac, Waq, Razz @ Man Morini @ MM, PakYob & Yours Truly), three others were with us that day.  Could not recall their names now.  One was Zack's office mate (riding a KTM), two others were friends of PakYob & Mzac from their GSXR group (rode a BMW K1200 and Kawi Z800).

Razz giving a leg signal :-)

Two Fellow Bikers - Friends of PakYob & Mzac from their GSX-R Fraternity...

What Zack Came For - Telur Itik Masak Lomak… Originallllll !!!

PakYob giving at try pillioning on the GS... changing camp?

Lemang courtesy of PakYob - Jazakallah.  It was ohsem!
The weather was a bot on the hot side today.  So, we sort of took our time to head out from Warung Lomang Apak.  But as the day is getting late (it was already past noontime then), Zack led the pack stopping for a refuel along the way - I think it was in Paroi.  By then, we shook hands as we were going to go home through different routes.

Zack was in the lead, as he normally do in our rides together.  Earlier he mentioned taking the Nilai exit, but he exited Mantin instead.  And we found ourselves by a roadside stall opposite a furniture shop nowhere near Mantin town <-- a="" because="" could="" figure="" furniture="" hehehe...="" important="" in="" information="" located="" middle="" not="" nowhere...="" of="" out="" p="" shop="" the="" we="">

Well the fruits were..... not really outstanding but everyone (except PakYob and that guy riding the K1200 whom by the way had his wife pillioning) enjoyed the Durian, Manggis and Dokong.  The day was still hot.  But the azan was already airing for a nearby masjid, indicating its already way past our target ride period... :-)

So, we called a day. Shook hand, and continued our ride back to our respective homes.

Razz demonstrating the proper way to "finger" it... hahahaha

There you have it.  A ride that had us back home around 3:00pm - so much for "balik sebelum Zohor" promise. hehehehehehe…..

Thank you yet again guys for a much needed ride after almost three months hiatus (since before Ramadhan, albeit few of us did ride solo or with other friend in between then and today...

A good ride indeed!

AjiKTM in deep thinking.... NOT FOR SALE Yobbb!!!  hehehehe…

And of course, this report would not be complete without Mzac's pre-ride selfie....  :-)
