Ride, Makan, Go Back (+ Service Bike)

It was almost a non-ride today.

Up until midnight last night, the responses were somewhat lukewarm. But this is not uncommon. Especially so this is an extended weekend.

But as (almost) usual, Mzac would (almost) always obliged my invitation to a ride. It would have been another two-bike ride... if not for Zack whom asked to wait for him when I declared the RV location early today morning.

So, there I was, at Shell RnR Dengkil around 8.45am today. Five minutes later Zack arrived, followed by Mzac soon after.

One thing remains though... where do we go from here? Hahahaha... we didn't really have a destination set. Zack suggested we go to Kuala Pilah... but before that... tightened some loose parts on Zack's ride (must have been riding at lunch lightning speed... the fairing came loose)... hahahaha...

Today's ride was most casual. Exiting at Nilai, we took the LEKAS Highway towards Kuala Pilah. But we didn't quite reach Kuala Pilah. The makan was at a new place (for us) called D'Sawah, in Hulu Bendul. All three had nasi lemak with rendang daging. Most delicious.

This is the place... Not far from the Hulu Bendul picnic area (after, if going towards Kuala Pilah from Pajam/Nilai).

It was a cloudy day, yet it felt hot. We chitchat for a while after finishing our meal. With no particular plans to go elsewhere, we headed back.. it was around 11am I think when we moved out from the makan place. Made a quick stop on the "highest bridge" to take some photos...

We parted ways along the highway... Zack and Mzac headed straight home while I made a stop over at MX Motorsports (AjiKTM's shop).

Gave the R1 an oil & filter change. Note, mileage is 33+ kilometers.

While Aji was doing it, I snoozed !

Well that was the half day ride. Zack called it "Ride Charging the Battery"... I call it "Ride, makan and go back" 😁

Thanks guys for another swell outing.

*This ride was on Monday 25th December 2017.

to Gopeng, eat durian --> mandi hujan

Could have not done it without my u.o.m.o buddies... :-)

I must say, these guys - and not only Mzac & Sham, but all the UOMOs - are most accommodating when it comes to rides. While some rides, like this one, are planned ahead, most are unplanned and impromptu with sketchy itinerary😁

And I always say, it's not just about the itinerary, but the ride and companions of fellow bikers that matter most!

For today, the ride was simple. Meet up at RnR Sungai Buloh. Head north on the hiway to Bidor for the mee kicap. Then take the inner (trunk) road towards Gopeng... to look for durian.

I was first to arrive at exactly the agreed rv time of 0830hrs. Its uncommon for Sham or Mzac to arrive late as they are normally punctual. Anyway it is a non-issue. Santai. There is no strict time schedule for our rides πŸ˜‚

Luckily I spent some time to give the R1 a quick wash before heading out this morning. She's been parked so long collecting dust...

Sham had to manage a sudden change in his wife's work schedule, thus he messaged that he would be a bit late ~ around 9.00am.

Sham arrived around 8.50, ten minutes ahead of the time he messaged earlier. Less than 10minutes later, Mzac also arrived and we took off immediately after Sham filled-up at Petron.

And true to my intention, I had the mee kicap while both of them went with Mee Kari... Both still as delicious as the last time we visited this Lina Mee Celup/Kari in Bidor. After a good late breakfast and chitchat, we continued our ride, stopping to refuel in Gopeng town. And I didn't notice that the low fuel indicator has already lighted up before we pulled into the station.

Sham made some enquiries, and after a short excursion into the kampung area, we finally stopped at this roadside durian stall because Sham could "gosok bahu tuannya sehingga dpt harga RM16 sekilo dari asalnya RM20" πŸ˜‚

We started with three, but ended with three "kecik" additional. So that's six fruits... Superlicioussssss.....

And for the price that we paid, it was well worth it! πŸ˜„πŸ˜ŠπŸ•Ί

Before heading back, we cooled off for a bit..

Apart from heavy rain at few stretches after Behrang, the return leg of the ride was smooth. We left at 3.00pm and arrived at RnR Sg. Buloh at 4.45...

And after a cup of drink each, we bid adiue.. reaching home at around 6.00pm for all three...

Once more, a good ride.... as always...

and they called it.."ride sukasuki"

πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

If anything, it was predictably unpredictable.  :-)

Saturday, 23rd Sept 2017. Twelve bikes. The ride with no plans.

Riders? Ajizizi, Batt66, Rik, Mzac, Sham, Faizal, Azmir, Knizy, Arzeland, Razzman+1, Saufi+1 & of course, yours truly.

The route...   First leg, rv point at Shell Tol Sg. Besi.  With no definite destination, the ride lead Capt. Haji Azizi just said that we shall exit Nilai and wait for two more riders (Faizal & Azmir).  So, the group exited Nilai, and waited for the two guys.

First stop, nasi lemak ikan semilang Lenggeng.

Second stop, at a road junction.... somewhere..

Third stop, Masjid Tua Nyalas.

And that was our first leg.

After Masjid Tua Nyalas, the group split into two.  Four riders had to return home due to other commitments - Razman, Saufi, Faizal and Azmir.

For the rest, its the second leg of this supposedly half day ride.  Destination - Mee Bandung Muar.

However, true to the namesake of this ride, we found ourselves at this forest recreation area. I am not sure where this was....  err forgotten the name of this place.  But we didn't stop, except for figuring out where we were and how to get to Muar from here :-)

so, this was somwewhere between Nyalas and Muar :-)

Finally, reached Muar for mee bandung.

It has been such a long "half day".... by the time we left Muar, it was already past four in the afternoon.  Although some suggested to do the costal roads for the return leg of the ride, the majority voted to hit the hiway at the nearest exit.  So, that we did... stopping only for a while at Seremban RnR before parting ways... Everyone reached home safely in time for dinner... :-)

Well, apart from the most enjoyable ride, the food was marbelezzzz.... as expected.

Thanks to the couples, especially their better half for enduring this ride suka suki with mo plans.

Hope "tak serik"

....hehehehehehe....

They Mentarang'd

It is pleasing to see that my regular riding buddies are still at it. At the same time it is hurting inside (for me) that I could not be there.

Well... not a reallyyyyyy big deal (self consoling... hahaha)...

Zack, Nox and Mzac plus Zack's friend ride today... to that mentarang place which we had been to a number of times before. The old place is no more...

This is the new "port".

And this is what's new on the menu....

And from the many messages exchange in our WhatsApp group, I can feel what a good time they had. Also, despite the earlier weather forecast of rain, not a single drop was reported.

Well done guys!!  Next time, plan the ride when I am home ya... hahaha...

A Santai Ride...

Most times, an impromptu "jom besok ride" message in the groupchat is an effective way to organise a ride... a last minute one at that... hahahaha... With subtle indications of "ok I am good to join" from the "usual suspects", it was enuff to set an rv point and rv time.

Saturday 18 March 0700am... Faizal asked "so, where do we go?" in the chatgroup. I didn't see the reply from Zack until I arrive at Shell RnR Dengkil @0815am, slightly later than the set rv time of 0800am :-)  if not for the heavy congestion/jam (an accident just before Saujana Putra exit) just after USJ exit, I would have been on time... Faizal, NoX, Mzac and Zack was already there when I arrived.

It was only then I found out we will be going to Kuala Pilah for Lomang Apak. This would be our second time to this place... hopeful that they have the lomang this time around...

The ride was a relaxed one... at cruising speed... santai abis :-) The sky was cloudy... which could have contributed to our ride mode. The ride was a bit longer. I think it was already close to 1000am when we arrived at the place. Anyway, it was all smiles as we parked our bikes at the roadside restaurant. They have lomang!

and... NoX brought sandwiches from home :-)

the usual suspects: L-R: Zack, NoX, Sabri, Mzac, Faizal.

Lomang with rendang and daging salai plus pisang goreng & nasi goreng.... that was all we needed. Other than the food, we chatted and discussed about NoX's predicament about getting a scooter. Before we knew it, it was already past noon. It was time to make a move. We agreed to go to Sendayan Motor in Nilai to look at scooters for NoX's consideration. But before that, a stop at ....... for air kelapa @ ayaq nyioq (coconut drink). And... we got something else there..:-)

Nothing beats having young coconut drink on a hot day. Oh ya, our return leg from Lomang Apak was with scorching sun (and lots of sweat) plus heavy traffic all the way from Kuala Pilah town to this warung

P.S. could not resist the temptation of the durian.... but it was only one (or two) seed for each of us :-). P.P.S. when we were finishing up here, the adzan from the mosque opposite the roadside was heard.... so we went for solat before continuing our journey for today.

Sendayan Motor, Nilai N.S.
NoX looking for options of scooter or similar sized motorcycle for his commute from Subang to Sepang. After deliberations, it was everyone else whom got excited... with Vespa... hehehehe..

Well, that was that. Nothing concrete was decided from this visit to the scooter showroom. But we left with an agreement - if NoX buy a Vespa, then the others would follow suit... hahaha..

The southbound ride could not be complete without stopping in Kota Seri Emas for the asamboi apple juice. Well today, we only got asamboi lemon juice as the shop was without electricity since noon. P.S. plus some cupcake and meehoon soup :-)

It was close to 4.00pm when we call it a day, and rode out from this restaurant. By that time the sky was already getting dark. And it rained heavily as we got into Shah Alam.

All five of us reported to safely arrived our respective homes around 4.30pm... and all five of us reached home drenched!  A "cool" end of yet another enjoyable outing. Thanks guys!

Another P.S.:  Haris, my very dear friend from Uni day long long time ago lives nearby Lomang Apak. When I told him I was at the place with some friends, he came over to say hello..... and paid for our meal. Jazakallahu kathira Haris ☺
