U70

It was by chance that Snan, a relative, was "given" a "60's" bike by a ...... errr.... long story and not that important :-) But the important thing is that he passed the bike to me last nite.

It seemed that the owner has done an almost complete restoration work on the bike. It's already sprayed with a metallic maroon color. However, since, my guess, the bike was left stranded and to rot by its owner, rust appeared here and there. The front mudguard is broken, and so is the 2T reservoir's cover. The fairing is missing. The tail light also. And one of the signal light is broken. The front tire is not fitted as the hub's shaft is missing. And without a spark plug, I'm not sure if the bike would start...

Well, at first sight, I thought the bike was a Honda... but it was a Suzuki... Wow! I have not seen this model nor heard of it before. Spend a few hours on google but found this:-

Not exactly the bike that was I was having.... This is a Suzuki F 70. Close but no dice.....

More google late last night.... and finally, I found the exact model. Its a 1969 Suzuki U 70...

Well... the bike that I have is not in a 'perfect' shape as pics above.... As mentioned, a few accessories are missing. But, the engine is not jammed as I was able to smootly kick-start the bike (don't know if it's 'alive' as no spark plug!!!).... this is a good sign....

Will let it park for now... and find time to work on it this week....

And I thought I knew a lot about the bikes!!!!.......
